Welcome to AIS Middle School
Our new AIS campus is a beautiful place! Students in grades six through eight work in an environment that fosters and enriches learning throughout the early adolescent years.

Our Beliefs:

A very effective group of certified teachers understands both the development that occurs during early adolescence and the needs of youngsters in this age group. We are guided by the statements below. We believe that:

  • Every student should have the opportunity to experience academic, emotional and social success.
  • Middle school teachers should be dedicated to the developmental needs of the adolescent student.

As a consequence of our focus, Middle School students become independent and responsible learners.

The Middle School Curriculum:

Our “core” curriculum consists of the following subjects:

  • Arabic (taken either as a native or a second language)

During this event students are recognized for their academic performance, outstanding character, attendance and improvement. Parent coffee mornings are held monthly for each grade level, during which parents have the opportunity to interact with the Middle School Principal and Counselor on an informal basis.

Middle School Athletics:

Middle School teams will practice on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the school year. Middle School Athletics involves competition in 2 conferences under 2 different formats.

Middle School athletes compete in the CISSA (Cairo International School Sports Association) Conference in Soccer, Basketball, and Volleyball. Basketball takes place in the fall and is currently under way, soccer occurs in the winter season and will begin in early December, and Volleyball takes place in the spring and will begin in March. Teams will play friendly matches in these sports leading to the CISSA Championship tournament that will decide the best teams among 8 of the top  International Schools in Cairo.

Middle School athletes also compete in ISAC (International Schools Activities Conference) which involves international schools from countries throughout the Middle East. Middle School athletes will compete in two Middle School Festivals through ISAC and a swim gala. The Middle School Festival occurs in the winter and involves 8 boys and 8 girls competing in a soccer, basketball, and volleyball tournament over the course of 3 days. The swim Gala will take place in May.

Athletics is a great way for students to develop healthy lifestyles of life long participation in sporting events, get some exercise, make new friends, learn valuable lessons about sportsmanship, commitment, and teamwork, and we would encourage all students to consider getting involved in the Middle School Athletics program.
