National Honor Society
The purpose of the National Honors Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership and to develop character in the students of secondary schools.
At the beginning of each new school year, AIS Egypt's Grade 11 and 12 students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.6 are inducted into the National Honors Society (NHS). Despite the organization's value for scholarship, induction is not solely based on academic success. Students must demonstrate leadership skills, an interest in service, admirable, well-rounded characters and a willingness to contribute not only to the group but also to their school and their community at large.
NHS selection not only serves to recognize and honor exemplary students, members have the responsibility to maintain a minimum GPA which is periodically checked and must also attend weekly meetings and mandatory events set up by the organization. It is vital that they maintain the renown and comprehensive par set by previous NHS members. Pillars for Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character are elected to coordinate and manage the association as a student organization.
NHS Induction Ceremony 2023-2024
The National Honor Society induction ceremony is a highly regarded event that represents the culmination of significant determination and dedication to its four pillars: character, leadership, service, and scholarship. The 2023–2024 chapter has the pleasure of announcing the addition of 32 new members. These students have performed exceedingly well academically, had excellent leadership abilities, served their communities well, and demonstrated admirable character qualities. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor for the newest members of the NHS!
Our Grade 10, 11 and 12 students had the privilege of brightening the day of children battling heart illnesses by bringing them toys and getting engaged in fun-educational activities!
Animal Protection Foundation Visit
To support the Animal Protection Foundation, an NGO dog shelter, members of the National Honor Society have been diligently fundraising at AIS since December. With their dedicated efforts, they have successfully raised more than 10,000 EGP. Recently, these compassionate students had the opportunity to visit the shelter in person, witnessing the urgent needs of the dogs in their care.
