National Honor Society

AIS Teacher Activites (IB World)

The purpose of the National Honors Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership and to develop character in the students of secondary schools.

At the beginning of each new school year, AIS Egypt's 11th and 12th-grade students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.6 are inducted into the National Honors Society (NHS). Despite the organization's value for scholarship, induction is not solely based on academic success. Students must demonstrate leadership skills, an interest in service, admirable, well-rounded characters and a willingness to contribute not only to the group but also to their school and their community at large.

NHS selection not only serves to recognize and honor exemplary students, members have the responsibility to maintain a minimum GPA which is periodically checked and must also attend weekly meetings and mandatory events set up by the organization. It is vital that they maintain the renown and comprehensive par set by previous NHS members. Pillars for Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character are elected to coordinate and manage the association as a student organization.
