Athletics

Sport and activity is a vital part of student life here at AISE. Some of life's most important lessons, such as victory and being part of a team, are learned through participation in athletics and activities. At AISE we strive to provide our students with the best in coaching, facilities and equipment, all of which are based on the core values of our program: excellence in effort, sportsmanship, teamwork, self discipline and dedication. In order to improve our athletic and after school activities for our student body, AISE has committed itself to further developments for the 2011-2012 school year.

AISE is a full member of the International Schools Activities Conference (ISAC) and Cairo International Schools Sport Association (CISSA). ISAC membership will allow AISE students to travel to places like Dubai, Doha, Muscat and Kuwait. In addition, AISE’s student athletes will have the opportunity to return, for the second year, to participate in the ISSAAAC Track & Field Meet in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. CISSA is the local Sport Association that AISE belongs to. Through CISSA, AISE teams will compete against ISC-C, MES, CAC, ISC-6, BISC, El Allson, NCBIS and other Cairo international schools.

AISE believes that athletics are a positive and powerful motivator for students to perform better in all parts of school life. Athletics is a way for our students to grow and mature as healthy, well-rounded and socially well adjusted citizens. By encouraging commitment, determination and teamwork we feel that our students will benefit greatly as they will apply these skills in other areas of their life. We truly hope that the students will take advantage of the athletic opportunities offered to them in order to make their school career a richer experience.

The objective of the Athletic program at AISE is to provide our students an opportunity to be involved in athletic activities in order to develop a positive character-building experience outside of regular school hours. AISE's goal is to become the most well-respected, most sportsmanlike and disciplined sports program in the region.

Students will have an opportunity to participate in both competitive and/or non-competitive sport teams. Non-competitive sports will be offered during lunch breaks when possible.

AISE students have the opportunity to compete in both local and international leagues. Local teams compete in Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball and Track & Field.

Our Junior Varsity and Varsity teams have the opportunity to travel for volleyball, soccer and basketball to international tournaments within the ISAC league. AISE's Track & Field teams travel to Addis Ababa and participate at the MS, JV and Varsity levels. Teams are divided into the following age classifications:
